Seattle Pacific University associate head cross country and track and field coach Chris Reed joins DyeStat editor Doug Binder to discuss the loss of the Falcon Running Camp on Washington's Whidbey Island due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The Falcon Running Camp is the oldest in the U.S., having started in 1962, and it serves about 170 campers per year. Summer running camps have been mostly wiped out by social distancing restrictions put in place by government officials to stop the spread of the virus. Summer camps offered by colleges and universities often produce the revenue to pay for assistant coaches and other program needs.
